nah im getting screwed again :D

I had a TRIPLE ligament tear on my left knee (along
w/ some VERTICAL fractures at the base of my femur
and the top of my tib/fib...where the bone "collided" behind
my knee)

there are 4 screws holding everything together now & ive
TORN my ACL again.

theyre gonna go back in and add a new ACL ligament (gonna
use some one elses this time, instead of BORING a hole thru
my femur to get one from my hamstring...like they did last time).

if im lucky they wont "bump into" the existing titanium hardware & just
ADD some more...

WOW, how did all that happen bush?

did you run into kathy bates (misery) and she got the sledge hammer after your knee?!

BTW bigdave, hope you get to feelin better and heal up real soon. :thumbs

Thanks! Lucky for me I'm through most of the pain, now there's just no walking for the next 5 weeks and the PT. But it will feel damn get to get behind the wheel of my truck again. My wife and I were talking on our way back from our cruise in January how the week we were gone had been the longest I had ever gone without driving, now I'm over 2 weeks. At least we've been saving money on only having to fuel up 1 vehicle the last couple weeks!

Took the truck out for a spin today. Turns out I'm JUST tall enough to get in the truck without any steps. I just back up to the open door and my butt is on the seat just enough to where I can pull myself up from there. I knew there was a reason I was 6'5"!

backing into the vehicle.

Since the surgery;
I use the same method for getting into our explorer. At 29" inseam there would be no way to get into the truck, except we have the chrome running board.
I still use the ladder to get into the bed area. Fortunately my left leg after the hip surgery is fine, unfortunately the right leg (hip) is going south fast. I was hoping to hold off the next surgery until November, but if it continues to increase in the pain level, I will have to get the surgery done sooner. The last four days have been very very painful. I have not been taking pain medication because the pills over time damage the liver.
I hope the you will be getting better soon. As you know it is no fun being layed up.
