I have been told not to use synthetic oil in the 6.0l, but when I purchased the truck the previous owner used synthetic oil. Can I go back to regular oil or not??

Synthetic

I would tend to disagree. When you use a synthetic oil the seals, o-rings and all other oil soaked surfaces rely on the additives in the oil to make the seal, when you change back to regular oil the seals, o-rings and all other oil soaked surfaces are robbed of those necassary materials which will cause them to crack and become weak, causing leaks and sealing problems. Plus with a huei engine especially the vt365 that relies greatly on oil to run and lubricate your best bet is to stay with the synthetic oil, you can downgrade to a blend because it still has the essentail additives in it.

BS, you can run synthetic oil after you have some miles on the engine. I switched at 18,000 and I now have 114,000 miles and not a leak yet or any other problems. Works like a charm.

You can go back to dino if you want, no seal worries, but there is no comparision to synthetic, and the engine will do better with synthetic in the long term. Cost is the only negative, other than that its all positive for synthetic.

Once you switch to syn oil, you will not want to go back. The engine noise will make you switch back to syn oil again.

60+ years ago this would have been true. Not so much these days.
