New to having the 4X switch on the dash, the indicator lights on the display come on when starting the truck but when switching from 2 high to 4 high to 4 low the icons on the dash don't come on?

My truck has 2H lit most of the time as 4wd isn't used very often. 2H to 4h can be done on the fly but isn't engaged until the light is lit. This takes a couple seconds. Going into 4L or out of 4L requires the vehicle to be stopped with foot on the brake in neutral. . The front hubs in auto are vacuum actuated but can be locked manually also. Get it in the grass, turn the switch, manually lock the front hubs if needed. Romp on it, you'll soon know if it's engaging. The light should be lit once engaged.

Convert your truck over to manual hubs, vacuum system is not reliable. Also, make sure your transfer case is actually going into 4WD hi/low. The plug connections do get wet and get crud in them and causes issues.

Thanks I’ll check that and I’m going to replace the hubs with warn.
