I got a better one than that..
My Mom called me over to cut some dead pine trees out of the back yard. Of course I went to do it when no one was home at her house OR mine...
So I notch this 18" pine tree to drop it between the bird feeder and a lilac bush... go around to the back side and start my felling cut... OOPS didn't make the notch deep enough, and now my saw is stuck in this tree...
Walk up AALLLL the way up to the garage and get Dad's wedges, sledge hammer, and splitting maul... walk AALLLL the way back to the tree... start hammering in the wedges and maul...
But the tree is juuuuust rotted enough that the stump just crumbles under wedges. So now I have my saw, two wedges, and a splitting maul stuck in this tree.
And I'm beginning to get ticked off..
I walk AALLLL the way back up to the garage and look for 30 minutes for Dad's logging chain, which I suddenly recall is at MY house, AAAALLLLLLLL the way across town...
Look for some of my old rigging ropes... can't find them... By now I'm beginning to think of, shall we say, "alternate methods" to pull the tree on it's proper course... then..
BOING! It hits me... if you can pull it, you can push it. Hey, I've got a diesel 4WD pickup.. this is gonna be a walk in the park...
drop the truck in low range to get better control, idle it up to the tree... give it some throttle, watch the tree drop RIGHT WHERE I wanted it, watch the saw go tumbling to the grass, the wedges drop and the maul handle come up and smack my truck in the tow hook...
So I go to get out of the truck all proud of myself, and when I open the door, I get this NASTY crunch-scrape noise out of the door gap...
then I look...
I've pushed the bumper back into the fender, which in turn has pushed back into the door, which now has ZERO seam gap...
so much for "built Ford tough"
