Hell that truck is probably already in a container at the ship channel if
not already across the border...

its not just the nice ones that get stolen...i had an 88 b2000 (the truck
that started it all for me)...nice clean little truck, no frills...used...but
i loved it...hail damaged hood and all...they stole it...stripped it for all
the parts, battery, wheels/tires, tail light assembly, front end,
and not just the radio outta the dash but the ENTIRE dash...
they even took the hood (hail damage and all)

number one stolen "car" in houston...gm suburbans....more
than 750 per MONTH...used to be monte carlos etc, now its
the acuras (their motors are higher horsepower EXACT fits for
the civic racers)...

That motor fits because an Acura is nothing more than a Honda with lock-washers. Same company. I'd sooner walk than drive jap junk.

I hate to see that. Is there anyone else out there who thinks auto theft should be punishable by death? I am being quite serious about this! In the day of the horse, they hung horse thieves because a horse was a mans' means to making a living. How has that changed with vehicles? What about the poor folks who can't afford full coverage so they carry liability only. Car / truck is gone one morning and that's that.
I apologize for potentially hi-jacking this thread but theft pi**es me off something bad. Last summer I worked 2 jobs, 40hrs Mon-Fri doing apprentice electrical work, and 16 hours on Sat AND 16 hourson Sun at the hospital for a total of 72 hours a week. I am not saying this to get a pat on the back or brag, but we had bills to pay, and vehicle maintenance to keep up, and wanted a few nice things, just like most of you out there reading this. I didn't resort to stealing fuel, clothes, electronic equipment, food, etc, etc........... I was proud and thankful to the Good Lord that I would and could do that for my family while persuing our goals and being responsible.
I will now step down off of my soapbox.

I can imagine the empty gut feeling one would get coming out in the morning to hop in the truck to go to work and it's not there:(

I know SuperDuty thefts are pretty high in the southern cities(especially Phoenix) bordering/near Mexico.
Pshhh you're tellin' me. If mine got stolen I wouldn't be able to buy one for a WHILE.

I hate to say it but this beauty's probably chopped. This is a pretty recognizable vehicle and they know that. Sucks too because I can already tell he's probably got $15k in that truck and it's not gonna mean boo to insurance. I'm getting those "jimmi-jammers" I think.

I talked with my salesman at the dealer yesterday, he told me he sold a Lariat on Friday morning, the guy went to Edmonton (4 hours away)Friday night and stayed at a hotel. When he came out Saturday morning his Super Duty was gone. The police think it was a Pro job and that he will never see his SD again. He was back at the stealership Monday looking for another one. Sounds like the kind of luck I would have. When he bought his first one on Friday, he declined the $299.00 theft package. This package would have gave him etching decals to apply to his removable panels and a $7000.00 credit towards a new one if his was never recovered. He bought it on the second one. Kinda like closing the barn door after the horse was gone.

Anybody know if these 99-04 Jimmi-Jammers will work on 05+'s?

And if so is it kinda the same to put them on?

one thing i found on my 02 to slow em down, was a hidden fuel pump cut off switch, placed in a location not easily accesible or seen, be known only by me, and used it to supplement my alarm, if i parked in a questionable area it was flipped and alarm set.
one moring i forgot i had switched the pump off, I got about hundred yards and she quit cold turkey, then the light came on in my head.
if they want in they are getting in, but they aent getting far

during IVAN they broke -mad in and tried to get away, got my maglight and cd's but truck sat still. and a goverment computer( no it had no identity info on it )

even with jimmy jammers you can get in without breaking anything in about 20 seconds, pretty lame if you ask me for a manufacter to make it that easy,
at least make em break a window ?

hope your bud gets his ruck back

From where the truck was, and what time of day, I doubt it would've made it to a container for export. I used to live there in houston, and the 610 loop at 59 north and south is REALY busy.......always tons of traffic. That is a damn shame, as soon as I heard about it I called my Dad down in houston and told him the scoop. He got on his nextell and told his crew to keep an eye out for it.....hopefully this truck will turn out. And turn up in good condition.....
