As some of you regularly do with your vehicles you take it to the local tire shop for them to balance and rotate the tires, this morning I ran the Excursion by Discount for the usual maintenance which low and behold the technician found the Left Rear wheel was bent enough to cause the tire tread to shift a good 1/8" of an inch.

Now all we could recollect ever hitting anything coming close to cause the wheel to bend was a pretty nasty pothole last month.

Any ya'll had similar wheel experiences with your Excursion/SuperDuty trucks?:dunno

The only bent wheels I have ever had were bent by the guy mounting the tires on the wheels. They might have bent yours when they were mounting up the BFG's..

They we're fine last December when I had the truck in last December and I typically get one of three technicians or the shop owner that services the truck each time since April 2003.

There's no way we're going to drive around with a damaged wheel which could cause other suspension problems like a wheel bearing as an example so this Saturday we're picking up a new set of wheels to put the BFG's on :sweet

If it's the all steel, or the polycast wheel, the answer is YES. The aluminum wheels seem to be less prone to twisting on the bolt circle (generally what I see), but then you have the problem of oxidation as the finish is abraded away, or, splitting of the casting if the wheel is subject to impact...
