Ok guys, on a stock 05-07 F250/F350 4x4... What is the amount of "up" travel on the front? Currently with my 4" skyjacker I have 4" of up travel and am using 2" of it judging by the shock rods and where the clean/dirt start. I did some math here.. but on a stock truck we only have 2" of up travel?? that's what i'm using for "normal" right now... so on stock trucks... how does that work? You just hit the bump stops a lot? why do we have so little up travel stock? Has anyone thought about shaving 1/2"-1" off the bump stops?

I have huge bumpstops on my front end however they are not enough i've ripped off my differential vent twice already and have had to replace it with fuel line. Nother problem with over articulating involves ripping off the vacuum lines on yer hubs.

your gonna be maxin' out them stockers a lot in real rough stuff, and as rooster said, might pull some stuff off. You just gota be careful, or lift... the only way to go..JMO

That is one thing I really don't want to give up by removing my lift... having like no suspension travel. Uh, can't have it all I guess. If I drop the lift I get rid of my stacked rear blocks, and probly will gain some MPG's on the HWY and it's easy to work out of the bed. But If i keep the lift, it looks cool, burns more diesel, doesn't fit in garages, and has good suspension travel. lol. :lmao I need to shrink this truck down to a 1500 size and keep it lifted :D

Whats crazy is that on my christmas trip i filled up in the exact same cities running with no lift and no chip as i did with the lift and chip. Another thing that blocks do is prevent you from overextending your shocks.

well in the jeep/toyota etc 4x4 world it's a common thing to trim some off the factory bump stops. 1/2"-1" usually. Wondering why on a stock setup you couldn't trim 3/4" off and still be ok... as long as your tires don't smash your fenders. Suspension wise... anything bind up? I'm going to look into this.
