Has anyone other than I noticed that the diesels that are getting the most attention from the hop up people are Duramax and Cummins?
Banks is doing a 650 hp duramax and others are doing Cummins.
Nothing lately for our Powerstrokes. I have been checking out the magazines to find new buildups for our Fords, but can not find any. Myself and most of my friends purchased Ford's because of the better quality, load carring capacity, history, look, and dependability. Even with all the teething problems with the early 6.0 I still think it is a very good engine. I hope that some of the after market companies will take some time and help develope better power and fuel mileage for our trucks.

youre lookin where...in the magazines, tv...it probably has nothing
to do w/ the BRAND of the truck...its not GM/DODGE that are paying
for these "hop up" articles its the aftermarket guys like BANKS that
are paying the mags to do the work...it sells more aftermarket parts !

I'll have to agree that it seems there's more bump up products available for the Cummins and Duramax brand diesels, nothing at all wrong with just something I've also observed in magazines, diesel performance websites, etc.

More than likely they got wind of the future engine changes and are saving their R&D dollars for the new 6.4 platform. While yes it sucks for us that have the 6 oh, it makes sense for them to make a new product for a new system, than a new product for an old system.

But as far as history goes, even in the gas world, there is a ton more for any GM than there is for Ford or Dodge. Dodge stuff in gas is pretty tough to find too... course, that's assuming dodge built a decent gas engine worth modding in the last 20 years. The Hemi is nice, but I'm sorry, it's a 350 on steroids...

plus the hemis never really hooks up it seems soft like its just running on a name, at least the ones i pass each morning in my little dually

also Ford doesnt do alot of over the top advertising or throw money at magazines for trucks builds and junk, they mainly are a bit soft on advertising, and let folks drive the best without alot of hype.
we know our psds are teh best rucks overall, even gm has had serious issues with the dura maxypad and ddge cant get a good tranny to hook up the cummins.
so we sit patiently by waiting for folks to come to us and say " i wish had bought a ford" and we just smile and wave :D :thumbs

What's out there thats not available for Power Strokes? Pistons, injectors, tuners, turbo's, intercoolers, exhaust, exhaust brakes, intakes, ...what isn't available? I'm not looking to start an argument. Just not seeing what the others have that we don't. -popcorn
