I’ve got a 2017 SD and the steering wheel all of the sudden right to a 90 degree angle but the truck drives straight. Ford is wanting $1700 to fix this!!! Seems outrageous for a truck with only 47K miles on it. Anyone have this issue?

Given the year and mileage shouldn't it still be under warranty? Is it electric steering?

To answer the question from @01yellerCobra ... Does the 2017 Super Duty really have electric steering? Actually yes... it does.

The electric motor, gear unit and computer module is actually in the steering wheel. This definitely sounds like a bad idea in a truck that is supposed to last 600k miles. I'm fine not having a variable steering ratio.

They have actually been doing it for a while in the smaller trucks. My 11 F-150 has electric steering. It's like the old "pinky steering" from the 70's when Ford used to use Saginaw pumps.....
