Steering Stops

Ok, heres the deal:

My pickup is a crew cab shorty, and as most of you already know, parking it at the local wal mart or safeway can be a major pain. My question is this:

How much, if any, can I safely trim off the steering stops to get a better turning radius? I understand that at some point the ujoints will bind and break, and I am wondering if there is a threshold, or should I just leave them stock length and deal with it

By the way, my truck is an 04 crew, shortbox, 6.0L, leafs front and rear

Buddy of mine did that on his Highboy... you can get away with a lot as long as you're not in 4x4. Even when you are, you're gonna feel the wheel fighting you in a bumping motion. If you're gonna try it, take a little at a time. You should be okay, but look for obvious things, like will any hoses be pinched, or stretched too much. Otherwise happy carving!

ha you think you got problems try turnin with 13.5's and 3.75 inches of backspacing. You can trim them up but you can only trim em as far as the leaf springs will let you.
