the past 3 days the temperature outside has dropped considerably.

1. i don't plug the truck in at night yet.
2. i start the truck and it runs rough to my first stall.
3. i get it going again, then attempt to drive, 100 feet away, i stall.
4. starts again, start driving, it bucks and stalls.
5. starts again, start driving, it bucks and stalls.

now it runs fine after all this, however, today the check engine light has come on and my buddy with the computer will help me out on saturday.

does anyone have any suggestions??? , anti-gel is going in tonight.

If the temperature is the only variable, I would go with it being a fuel problem

Lots of things, what the temp outside?
Change Fuel filters lately?
Possible fuel gelling?
There's lots of things that need to be addressed here. Why haven't you plugged it it? Is it a hard start?

hillbilly - i could be letting it warm up a little better, but even though, stalling is not normal when i'm on the interstate already (warmed up).

gotdeisel - temp outside in the morning is 27 degrees farenheight. fuel filter was changed 1 week and 2 days ago (made sure that was tight). i don't usually plug it in until there's snow on hte ground. there's a very little smoke which tells me that the glow plugs are fine, they're 1 year old. easy start, but it runs rough to its first stall.

Try plugging it in and seeing if it still does it.

Also I know it only happens when it is cold but CPS's go out in very different ways could be on it's way out.

After it stalls will it fire right back up? Or do you have to crank for awhile?

mine did the same thing. i'd start it and it run for a min then die. restart and drive a block then die. ran fine for a few days then it'd start again.

the only code the engine threw was EBPV error that was not related afterall.

under the valve cover the injector wireing harness was burnt. i had to replace it. no big deal. You could have the same issue? does it run rough when the engine light is on?

when the engine light is on and its warmed up a bit use a point & shoot thermometer & see if the tep on both sides is the same or if one in several degrees colder. the cold side is the dead side.
