Put a new CPS on it and if it still don't start let us know. Ford has a recall on your CPS right now and will do the work and part for free, just call your Ford dealer.

It sounds to me like a glow plug relay.

Hook a volt meter on to the output terminal, turn the key on and see if you are getting an output voltage.

if he leaves it plugged in during the night,i think after awhile of cranking it would start even if the gpr or gp's were bad.i dont think the gpr or gp's would tottaly prevent it from starting.after a few cranks it should heat the cylinders up enough to fire it up.check your hpop, fuel filters,OIL LEVEL,I REPEAT OIL LEVEL.check those.

No, they wouldn't keep it from totally cranking, but would make it hard to start. I agree, sounds like fuel filter. On second though, do you run anti-gel in your fuel NBFCJY?? If not, if the temp. get cold enough overnight, your fuel could be gelling up or right on the edge of gelling. Not sure at exactly what temp. it starts to gel. Someone who knows the answer should reply here soon. Hope the CPS takes care of it for ya!! Happy New year to all.
