starting issues....

Ok, so a few times now when i go to start my truck the message center flashes check brake system and truck won't really start it turns over and seems like it dies. turn key back and try to start again starts no problem every time and doesn't say anything about brakes. Not sure what it is or if it a problem just wondering. Truck has 21k on it now............ Ideas

called dealer they said it is more than likely a weak battery going in tomorrow at 830 under warranty

John, batteries cause more problems, in diesels, than any other item. If in doubt, get your batteries LOAD TESTED at a good auto parts store.

Yup, did some more research after asking here. Went to local shop that specializes in batteries. The left battery tested as good only needed to be fully charged, the right was shot only 5 amps. Replaced them both. Issue resolved.
