How do you check for a weak battery on the two battery starting system? Or do you replace both batteries when the cranking power gets a litle weak?:dunno

Disconnect each and load test each on it's own. Most guys here will tell you if you DO have a bad one, replace both.

x3 -- and there are all sorts of batteries out there to choose from also!

I know most might not think twice about these, but I bought the Walmart Everstart MAXX batteries -- have a longer warranty than the Motorcraft with 25 less CCA and cost $130 for both -- was over $200 for Motorcraft and over $160 for the Autozone/Sears/Oreilly's/Napa equivalents

Definitely replace both at the same time.

I picked up a pair of 900 CCA's at Costco for $69 each and they come with a 36 month free replacement warranty then pro rated to 100 months thereafter.

thoese sound like the wally world ones that I Got with 800 something CCA...

they had a 108 month warranty I think it was... I figured i'd go for the less costly and longer warranty and even if I have to change my batteries a few more times, i doubt I'll have to pay full price for a pair of batteries ever again :)
