Question starter

My starter spins but will not engage to the fly wheel. Yesterday I replaced the 2 batteries and had the 2 fuel filters replaced. It ran fine till about 7.00 pm when I turned it off. Tried to start and the problem began. Herman

Sounds like the starter drive had gone south. I would avoid reman starters from Ford, and most auto parts stores. A good source for a new starter at a good price is dbelectrical.com, check out the high tork starter they offer. They have an excellent reputation. The high tork is a gear reduction unit. It is impressive.
