I had the same experience in Lexington KY in late 80's, after a big snowfall. Coming from MN and upstate NY, I couldn't believe my eyes. I don't think their spreader broke though -- that was it!!! The place was shut down for a week. It was snow, not ice.

It must have been nice driving and having small spots of cleared road every 20 yards!

still no word on whether or not they got it fixed..
but they have picked up nearly two feet of snow in the last couple days..
