He used his granddads 30-40 Kraig which is well over 100 years old(last manufactured in 1904) and was used by Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders. Deer dropped like a rock.....didn't even take 1/2 a step.

I let the boy shoot several of my guns at the metal reactive targets and also some Tannerite. He was grinning ear to ear. He really liked the .22 conversion kit in the AR15 and burned through about 300 rounds with that.

The metal target was too close to the tannerite and lost some of the stickers.

While we were there we inspected the new fences. The builder did a great job and even used rebar for the stays. Being a desert atmosphere this fence will last well into my grand children's lives.

Watched them build the DCP pipeline.....it went right through the north part of our prairie dog town. One of the workers had never seen prairie dogs before and wanted to know what we fed them......hard not to bust out laughing.

Inspected the Lone Star pipeline easement that was completed this summer. The grass they planted looks great and has gone to seed. Hopefully we will get some rain so the grass will spread next year.

The neighbor put cattle on the new grass on his side of the fence.....its gone now. We don't have any cattle on our place right now and are letting the grass recover..
