I have an 05 superduty with no chip. Whenever I pull out on a steep hill with an enclosed trailer (28') attached, my speedometer quits working until I get to the flat and actually shut the truck off then turn it back on. Ford has been tryin to locate the problem, but to this point has not found a solution. Any ideas out there? It only happens when I have to crawl out of a steep long driveway to the main road.

hummm sounds electrical...and trailer related...jsut for giggles if you
have the trailer hitched but UNPLUGGED does it do it ? if not then
id start tracing & lookign for shorts in the trailer wiring system (including
the brake controller).

usually the dealers just replace the instrument cluster

Mine does that from time to time and it does it more when the temp out side is below 45 degrees. On some cool morning it will show 100 MPH when you are running down the road at about 55 MPH. The dealer wants it out of warranty so I will have to pay the first $100.00 on it. The temp out side today is 100 so it will not do it now. Maybe it will get fixed one of these days.
