Speedometer Problems...

I started the truck this morning and took off to find out that i wasn't registering anything on the speedometer. I don't know where to start with this problem? Is there a speed sensor that could be out? I have a 2001 F-250 PSD Ext cab. Any insight that you guys could shed on this problem would be greatly appreciated!

If you have a way to pull codes, do it... Other wise I am 90% sure its the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) which is on top of the rear axle, sometimes you can remove and clean (both the sensor and the contacts) or replace it. But might pull the codes first.

definetly pull codes first if you have access to get em pulled for free (someone with a programmer that reads codes like Bully dog power pup, or superchip 1705)

tell us about your truck leave a signature. year, cab style, mods, and ect.

It is a F-250 Ext Cab 7.3 PSD only mods are intake and 4" MBRP exhaust. I am going to pull the codes and check the Speed Sensor today when i get home Hopefuly that is the issue. Thanks for the help I will let you guys know what i find out.

Pulled the codes, Nothing! Pulled off the Speed Sensor cleaned it and the contacts, Problem solved! Thanks for all the help guys!
