Speedometer not operating/Overdrive button light flashing

I just drove down a bumpy gravel road and it started working again. I guess it is a loose connection somewhere - but where?

Mine had a break in the wire leading to the VSS.. The copper was broken iside the plastic insulation. Bumps in the road ,had the same effect...

Mine did the same thing today. Stopped turned it off, cranked her back up and no problems.
