Help Needed Speedometer failure

Hello All,

I have a '99 SD 7.3 F-250. I was returning from July 4th weekend when I noticed that my ABS light came on, and my cruise control was not working, then my speedo was not working. I called my local repair shop and of coarse he said bring it in. I then checked the fuses which looked just fine.

Has anyone had a similar problem. Can you gives me any ideas, direction?

My guess would be the speed sensor in the rear differential, is bad, or needs cleaning.

It's called: Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) 25 dollar part ? Just replace it.

10mm bolt, hold down clamp, 2 pin plug.. 15 minute fix.

Yup, I'd agree with the VSS diagnosis.

My speedo is stuck under the peg after a dual battery failure a few days ago (see 911 thread). I'm assuming my VSS is still working as my cruise works just fine. Any suggestions??
