I noticed that the "off" light on the gear shift was blinking. It has gotta be something electrical. Any ideas?

Your tranny is in "limp home" mode. Thats why its shifting funky. ie; higher RPM's and not going into 3rd or OD. Make sure you have everything hooked back up electrically from your very first tranny R&R job. The plug on the top of the tranny screwed with me when I put mine back together. Basically what happened was there was no communication between the PCM and the tranny so the PCM said it didnt want to play with the tranny anymore. One good tug on the plug to seat it corrected my problems. I hope yours is as easy.-popcorn

I never messed with any electrical connections.

Took it to the shop today. Guys hooked the scanner and it did not dump a code. They went through testing the VSS and Solenoids, and everything checked out. They are going to check into it some more and let me know. I'll keep you guys informed.

$837.59 total cost of rebuild and new tc.
They put the sonnax kit in and with the other 2 springs they put in. Man it shifts better then my father in laws brand new truck. And that vibration that I thought was the ujoints again is GONE. It runs GREAT. thanks to all for putting up with me while I got through this.
