I was installing the sonnax kit yesterday and everything was going fine. Today my truck will not shift out of first. I am cetain it is one of the clips that holds the valve. Does anyone know where I can get this clips? Is there anything I can use as a replacement? I called the dealer and they just want to sell me an entire new valve body.

Thanks

To me it sounds like the valve body when it was down may have caught a piece of debris in one of the channels.

SDD member Whatabudro has done several of these Sonnax/Tricumulator kits in the past as well as other members have the same mod that'll chime in.

Contact the selling retailer of the kit this morning or give Garrett a call at BlackCloudDiesel for his take:cool:

If one of the clips fell out, then the valve would come out and not be able to built up pressure to shift. All of the clips seemed loose.
The one on the modulator valve seemed homemade, which had me worried. Seems like someone lost the original and made one up.

This is why I am aksing where I can get these clips, or what can I use as a suitable replacement.

did the clips look like this?

I dont see how a clip could fall out thow? Its in a channel and the channel is up when bolted and there isnt anywhere it could go. I think I remember reading something about a plunger gettin jammed. The little piston piece thats inside this:

If I recall correctly the stock clips in the photos have alot of tension on them.

I have also heard of the piston getting crooked in the bore and causing problems.

Yeah, those are the animals.
Ok, this morning I opened it up and took out the valve body. I went down to see friend who owns a tranny shop and he replaced the clips and replaced everything back to stock. Figured ok, its gonna work.
Put the valve body in filled it with fluid, and guess what..
It shift up into 2nd but thats it. no OD. Truck shifts into 2nd great but will not go past that. I noticed right away when it shifts into 2nd the RPMs stay higher than before- around 1800.

I noticed that the "off" light on the gear shift was blinking. It has gotta be something electrical. Any ideas?
