I just installed my Sonnax shift kit last night. It took me about two hours but I wasn't in any hurry. I love how my truck shifts now! Gets into gear very fast but doesn't slam into gear. It was really pretty easy
( thanks to the TIKI article ).
I didn't find any metal shavings in the valve body and as far as I could tell everything looked great. I hope it lasts me another 119,000 miles!!!
Overall, it is a great cheap, semi-easy mod. Sure would have been nice to have the truck on a lift though.
I hope to purchase a new compressor wheel soon and hopefully do the install on that myself along with some new O-rings on the turbo ped. I am very "green" at working on trucks so every new install is very educational and satisfying to me. Pulling the turbo is very intimidating to me. Oh well, gotta learn somehow.
