SMART CAR's are pretty tough...

at work we were talking about how a smart car (and other cars too) would be suicide to drive on any highway in CT (for those who have never been, CT is a 24-7 formula 1 race) after seeing a bunch of trucks towed in after a pileup. then i found this, and a few other pics on the web.....

now i dont know how heavy the ball is, or if its totally fake, but after searching around and reading i guess those little cars can hit a wall doing 60, and the passengers can open the doors and walk away with a serious headache. I WANT ONE!

That's pretty impressive, but I'll stick with my truck seeing as how that thng probably can't tow 10,000 pounds or haul a ton of junk in the back. Not bad though. I saw one in person and the body panels are all plastic. The guy sai he can change the color in 3 hrs. in his driveway by replacing the panels.

yes the car will survive but the passengers inside will not survive the crash due to rapid deceleration of their internal organs (aka guts to mush)

The shell of the smart holds up well in a 70mph crash into a concrete barrier

HERE is a thread I posted a year ago about a SMART car that we hauled last year.

My PSD is wider at the mirrors that it was long.

My thoughts are that a flat wall crash test is meaningless when you rearend a lifted superduty, or any other truck, and get a nice mouthful of trailer hitch.
