I've been conversing with Jody of DP-Tuner on tweaking my PCM tune to get the idle right and to adjust the tranny shift points more to my liking.
I've been getting a SES light when I romp on it and got an AutoEnginuity to:
1)trouble shoot my SES light and to
2)do some data recording to better assist Jody in fixing my idle issues.
Aside from the rough idle issues, the truck is running like a raped ape. I did some data recording to & from work, and sat down to look at the data spread sheets.
One of the parameters I recorded was vehicle speed. Everytime a parameter value is recorded, it also records the time. Well, on the way home from work, I had to stop at a stop sign on the highway. I floored it from there because I wanted to set the SES light so I could read the code (P1211 by the way). I noticed on the data spreadsheet it had a time for 0 mph and a time for 60 mph. The difference was 7.67 seconds. (That was just a floor it and go, I didn't do a brake/line lock first.) The time for 0 to 75 was 11.49 seconds.
Overall, not too shabby for an early 99 with a little turbo and a DP-Tuner Econo tune. Once I get my P1211 code fixed (I think I need a new HPOP), I guess I'll have to go for a High Tech Turbo or a Ball Bearing Turbo. My biggest concern right now is I really have to watch my EGT's. I can hit 1250 to 1300 without much trouble. I don't think I can use a hotter tune than the Econo 80hp tune until I start getting more air in there.
