I've always replaced the headlight bulbs with Silverstar by Sylvania they are a heck of lot brighter than stock bulbs. I've been kinda lost because they weren't available for my 06 350 with the H13 or 9008 bulb. They were just put on the market this week, I picked up a set at Autozone the only set they had. But I'm just posting this for others that need this size and to let you know it's now available on a limited basis.

You should also replace the factory fog light lamps with 9005 silverstars if you have them.;)

unless there was some change between 96 and 97, they are very easy to remove/replace. You simply disconnect the wires and twist the plastic base cover to remove the tension held bulb assembly. I noticed when I did mine they are apparently pressurized somehow as they both gave a loud "whoosh" sound when they broke free. They go back in just as easily. Do NOT touch the glass with bare fingers. Skin oil will create hotspots on them and cause them to fail more quickly.

I didnt do the harness upgrade (yet) and Im not sure I can tell much, if any, brightness difference. The light is whiter but that is all I can notice.

I found a two pack on ebay for $20.

So the Silver star 9005's are brighter than the Silverstar Foglights replacements? I can't remember the number now. :(

BK - can you modify the lights to keep dims on with brights without the upgraded harness? I suspect you could since that happens with the flash to pass.
