Cleaned checked and tested the IPR has voltage and pulls in when key is on. Checked all fuses 10 times. Truck will not start, only with a small shot of ether. Takes about 20 seconds to get oil pressure on the gauge inside the truck. So today i got it started and drove it to the garage. scanned it. Had alot of old codes from the CPS failure. Had a PCM failure but that was rectified by turning the thumbwheel to stock setting. Swapped the CPS for one of the new versions. still no dice. The ICP is still leaking but is giving a reading. I can crank it to 1500 psi then it immediately starts bleeding down. I dunno what to check next. There are no big white puffy clouds when cranking. The truck never started after i turned it off one day.

If I read this right you have a chip installed. If so, remove it, dont just set it to stock setting, remove it completely off the PCM to eliminate it as a possible suspect.

and quit the ether.

No kidding! Back in September when I had the fuel clog problem my EX-mechanic used ether against my better judgment to try to start it. There was a big bang! Didn't think anything of it until this week when I changed my Tymar filter. If you look at the photo you'll see burn marks on the inside pleats. I actually sent this photo to Dale Isley since he has seen it all...EXCEPT THIS! His comment to me was to never, never, never use ether in a 1st generation PSD.

finally got time to tear it down. Pulled the valve covers and cranked the engine and watched for oil. NONE. none out of the spouts none from around the injectors. Made sure i had pressure on the gauge. Checked the IPR harness again. .25v difference between batteries and plug. Pulled the Computer and removed the chip. Still no start. However i have NO RPM's showing on the tach. So i removed the CPS. Is there supposed to be Oil in there because there was some on my cps when i removed it... I have the newest version to put in. I also have some water leaking from behind the water pump i'm guessing. its wet from the bottom down. I'm upgrading the pump to a 17* anyway, just want to make sure theres nothing else wrong. anyone happen to know where the best place is to get a reman. pump that will swap 15* for 17*?

Does your HPOP reservoir have oil in it? What is your crankcase oil level? Yes, having a small amount of oil run out behind the CPS upon removal is common.

full and full to the line. Getting no tach signal, no RPM. New CPS is in. Chip is out. Everything is plugged in. It started earlier today. I just dont get it. PCM doesnt smell burned and nothing on the board is burned. I'm getting a wait to start light, and the GPR relay is clicking. Just for ****s and giggles... it wont start on ether. I want to get it running to check the oil spouts and injectors with it running. All the fuses are good. NO CEL. How much voltage does the PCM need to run correctly?

So, is the truck running or not? If it did start you can rule out HPOP, IDM, PCM. How old are your batts?
