Most of my friends know I prefer the 7.3L due to the mechanical record so if you can locate a clean 7.3L that is unmodified stock I say pull the trigger but make sure whatever you choose(6.0 or 7.3L) that it's stock with no go fast goodies on it as you can add em to your taste as you work out the prior owner bugs

Good places to check is the local ford dealers as Excursions do get trade ins once in awhile.

Once you pull the trigger don't let it get away. Selling our 00' X was a big boo boo. I see it about once a week and two years later it is still going strong. The 05' SuperCrew that replaced it is about half the rig.
