if your like me, then your MPG may go down some. i get around 15.5 and i hammer on it a lot!!! i use a 5.6k resistor instead of the 10k. you will see a difference with the 10k, but i get a little more low end and smoke out of the 5.6k than i did with the 10k. you have to watch out using the 5.6k though b/c you might get a flatline in power with it. use the 10k for safety.

i just got back from my first test drive after the 10k mod,i noticed aliitle more power and some black smoke,i also noticed it idles alittle different,is that normal, does it really add around 30 hp and 100fts tq, i also bought the 5.6k also, just in case, what do you mean i might see a flatline in power, and would it be smart to put in the 5.6k when towing? thanks

The idle change is normal. You can put some diodes in there and it won't affect idle at all. the current won't pass through those until after it gets above idle, so the mod is "turned" off when you're at idle. I'm not sure what the effect would be while towing, but it'd be best if you had some gauges, then you can find out for sure what's going on.

And, not to hi-jack BUT...

I have tools to make computer network cables. I always wanted to experiment with the 10K mod, so what I did was rig up a cable to a regular wall jack. So, where you've got the resistor, I've got this network wall plug. Then, I made plugs that go in there with various resistors on them, so I can change them out for different sizes (or just take it out all together to go back to stock) on the fly from inside the cab.

I made a 220, 470, 1K, 4.7K, 5.6K, 10K plugs

After running all of the different ones, I really don't notice much difference from 10K and stock. I do notice a HUGE difference on the ones below 1K, though.

Got gauges? If not, I recommend them ASAP. EGT's can get out of control when fooling with fuel delivery.

EGT will get high when you are towing, running hard or lugging it down. Theoretically you may be fine cruising around town but like stroker said if you are going to mess with the fuel you should first install gauges. Wires touching cannot be good

Superduty turbos are closer to the driver than OBS Look how far the cowl extends over top of the turbo on a SD then compare to your OBS. Yes an open element will let you hear more of the whistle
