anyone see any issues with cutting a 4" section out of the front shock mounts and rewelding them as oppose to buying 5" lift shocks?

the mounts are bolted on and it'd be pretty easy to cut them down.

Superlift has some raised lower mounts. they bolt to the stock mount and also raise up the bump stock.

all the angles will remain aside from the amount the mount is sticking out from the truck. it will bring the shock in about 1.5" closer to the truck at the top.

I'll look into superlifts mounts and see if they are basicly the same as if the stock were cut down.

All will be ok EXCEPT - the longer travel you get from the springs will be hindered by the short bodied shocks bottoming/topping out. essentially you will have lifted suspension with stock travel.
i chopped 3" out of the dual shock mount and spring buckets on my bronco, works perfect.
