shifting out of reverse

I've got the auto tranny and when I shift from reverse to park it makes a noise. Its not loud but it just doesn't sound right. I have been shifting to neutral first then to park and from reverse to neutral its very faint. Is this a normal thing or is something jacked up in there? I haven't checked the fluid levels yet but that's the next thing on the agenda. Its only got 2090 miles so far. Any input?

take it to the dealer there is a tsb about its but its old......however if you dont drive her like she was stolen every now and then the adaptive learning thinks grandma is behind the wheel and will start doing weird stufff.
take her to teh dealer and it will scare her

Do you have the plow package? there was a tsb on that about a snap ring being out of place in the tranny. Mine will make a crunch every so often when hitting reverse. Almost sounds like you're pulling a bolt through a hole. Nothing odd has shown up in the tranny fluid yet, but... time will tell.

wasnt limited to the plow package...all the automatics were "suspect"
there were no snap rings IN the reverse planetary pins...the pins
backed out on some...and could back out on ALL w/out the snap
rings.

there was NO TSB...it was called a customer satisfaction campaign...
if your trans came apart they fixed it, we recv'd letters...if you took it
in before damage or problems occured you were retro fitted w/ the
snap rings.

the customer sat. bs later became a full blow recall...04B24
