you mentioned oil usage, is the valley full of oil ,
check the two forward hpop lines, they love to back off slightly and leak like a sieve under load. the O-rings go bad and the fitting just un spins.

are you blowing oil smoke out the exhaust> blue colored ?
do you have oil in the coolant degass tank?

No leakage anywhere, engine totally dry. Smoke appear to be just black but there could be a little blue. Coolant appears to be clean. There is still a question as to whether I am really loosing oil or not. I thought it was low at my parents so I added a quart and it is over a half quart over full now over 600 miles later. Apparently a little angle affects the reading a fair ammount.

Their webpage claims it is a scan tool and can read all variables and clear codes. I know it can only program the flash on one vehicle but I want to be sure it can scan others. It says it does not do diesels but other sites say it does, I am going to call and check.

I just talked to SCT and it will allow you to read and set just about everything. It will also scan other Fords but it will not scan other makes.

Did you ask about ICP and IPR duty cycles....that's diesel specific and I doubt they put that in their scan properties.

i know you guys dont like predators, for some reason, but mine on my 7.3 monitored just about everything except the nut behind the wheel, it looked at everything the ecm was looking at, you could ask it to data log an event while you drove around and then download it to your laptop or home puter
it was very detailed.....somebody here bought my old one, :confused: maybe he will drop in and refresh the items monitored.
