The winter storm we are currently experiencing has now given me a second involuntary day off in a row from work.:skate

Yesterday the snow wasn't that bad, but things intensified overnight. I have about a foot to foot and a half of snow in the driveway that Mrs TG almost got stuck in when she got home from work this morning. I was getting ready to go in to work but got called and told to stay home. The RV dealer I work at wouldn't be opening up today. :notwork

So combined with my day off on Thursday, the snow days Friday & Saturday and work being normally closed on Sunday, that makes four consecutive days off for me. That may sound like a good deal, but unless you know in advance and can make plans to do something, having 4 days off in a row ain't much use.

So here I am, in mid April, with a near blizzard going on outside, there's little I can do but wait for it to die down so I can go out and clear the driveway. :snowb
Global warming my ass!!:lmao:lmao

Well, at least on TNT they have a Lord of the Rings marathon going on all day. :dunno

Yea, how about that global warming! Al Gore, and his looney tune ASSociates, sure know their stuff. Enjoy the snow, don't send any down here, We sure had our share this year, over 80 inches.:stir

It warmed up a couple more degrees than they thought it would be so our foot or more of snow turned into 1.7inches of rain. North of here they had blizzard conditions. At least I didn't have to go out to plow snow.

We must have got 5-6" here overnight

The only good thing is that it won't last long once we get up to 60° in a few days :sweet

Things are actually getting a bit sunnier since I got called this morning and told to stay home. The snow looks to have stopped for now.

The deck was bare just a couple of days ago.
The snowdrift is about 4' high.

This shows about how much snow I have in the front yard, about 4'-5' worth.
The snow pile, even with the snow of the last couple of days, used to be about 2' higher before it melted. That height will likely be restored (and then some) after I get done blowing the driveway out.

Last night's snow has already lost a few inches of depth because it has compacted under its own weight, it's that wet & heavy. I took the truck to town yesterday and cleaned about 6" of snow from it. Add to that what you see on it now, it would have been a good foot total. West of here up in the highlands, in Ishpeming where I work, they got about twice what we got here.
