I took my truck to the dealer for warranty work a couple of weeks ago and of course took the program off of it. Well I have let if running the stock tune for the last couple of fill ups. The last time I filled up I tried to go ahead and upload a program again, but I am having issues. On the read-out it tells me that the stock calibration or something has changed and asks if I want to update the unit for it. I select yes and then I get another message that says I need to update. What does that mean (besides the obvious fact that I need to update)? Where do I go and what in the world do I do and how do I do that?

DID they do a 'flash' on the truck..if so, i think you need to contact sct for a new version...iirc.

but a better source could deny or confirm that for you..

The tune files on your SCT are based on the standard settings on the truck. If your dealer flashed the truck, they updated it to new standard settings, which the SCT is obviously not compatible with.

You will probably have to document the codes you are getting, and have SCT update your tuner to the new compatible files. This is nothing new to SCT...

also let me make this a little clearer. When I tell it to update it throws up and error message and I have to exit from tuning completely.

Document the error message and call SCT. They will instruct you how to get current files loaded onto your tuner.

10-4: they reflashed your pcm.

like kenholl said, take a look at your paperwork, it should state what was done, and tell sct what flash was done too besides the codes it gives you..
