F250/350 6.0 manual transmission, 2005 or 2006 year.
Has anyone installed a sct program or chip in the above truck? I am interested in knowing what egts your seeing while pulling a 5th wheel up a long grade, in tow mode?

If he doesnt check in, send him a PM, he could tell what you want to know.

Would you mind to either post the info or forward it to my PM box...I would also be interested in what he had to say.

Thanks

This was his response with a few changes to save the innocent.

Maxtor, I love my SCT tuner, and the EGT's are actually cooler running the tow tune. You would want to get gauges for sure, as you still need to watch the EGT's on grades when you're towing heavy.
As far as the fuel mileage, I really can't say for sure. Being that the truck is almost never run empty, its really hard to judge. I generally get 11-12 mpg unless I am really towing heavy stuff. My normal load is a 7,000- 8,000 lb enclosed service trailer. And of course the loads vary greatly on the gooseneck equipment hauler.
The other thing on MPG is the fact that I'm young and usually in a hurry My truck also idles alot in the winter, being it's sorta cold up here
Hope this helps

I run one as well. I don't tow very much and when I do it's all local, therefore I don't know EGTs on a long grade. However, running the Insanity file, I have yet to exceed 1300 degrees no matter how hard I flog it. I did toast my clutch in about 3 months though, and had to up grade to the 8FB south bend. Towing MPG is N/A since I hardly exceed 45 mph, but empty on the highway is usually around 23-24 MPG. (a little less now due to winter fuel)
