Quick question, I have heard that with some tuners it does not allow you to make power when its cold?
I put my sct from performance to tow, it was cold and not warmed up. I left for work. when i got out of the driveway and gassed it the tranny slipped and motor revved right up as if it was a clutch and i stepped on it and gave it gas?
It was then perfect after that. tonite i put it on performance to drive home.(again cold) it slipped again. only once then perfect. Is this a fail safe?
or is it not supposed to do this?
thanks:stir :stir

I have the edge juice/attitude module in my truck. The Tranny has to be 115F plus 5 minutes before the module allows u to make its power. Safety precaution so you do not damage the tranny. Cheers Mike

Well........that answer is a little rough around the edges but........it is correct.

DO NOT hammer on the throttle until you are up to operating temperatures. The engine oil is still cold.....thick and not moving well.

Regarding the tranny if it is flaring is very likely that your clutches are slipping due to lack of pressure or worn out parts which is NOT GOOD. It may or may not be a temperature related problem.

When I had Superchips program years ago I sent it back for tranny line pressure adjustment programing.

Tbar

this guy is on the right track..

you should ALWAYS let the truck warm up before getting on it, cold oil and cold tranny fluid should not be hotrodded...

and if you're experiencing that slip it is most certainly NOT failsafe and is NOT normal, hopefully it's because it was cold, but i would be willing to bet you are looking at a new tranny build in the near future.
