Well I hated to say good bye to an old friend but 2 moths ago it ws $278 for an idler pully. 2 weeks ago it was $303 for a wheel hub unit assembly. For the last 3 weeks it had bellowed black smoke 4 times and 2 days ago the transmission slipped. Transmission was shot as per the shop. Bad things is, Im in Asheville NC 600 miles from home with a trailer in tow pulling my Harley. $2800 min to fix the Transmission. Only had 133K on the clock. Had new BFG TA KOs put on 12K ago for $1000. 20K ago I spent around $2,500 on top end work (Oil and EGR cooler, etc.....)

I couldnt stand to put anymore into my friend and had to part ways. King Ranch is a nice truck but I literally couldnt afford to keep throwing money into it. I had to leave the world of SuperDutys and go back to a F150. I wound up with a 4 door Lariat with 3.73 rears 4WD White over Gold with the Ecoboost engine. Im gonna try fuel economy now. It is the heavy rated with 11,000 pounds of towing capacity.

I didnt even make 500 post on here. Dave Ben, Im sorry I couldn't even come close to your number of post. My Friends, thank you for your information and help while I owned my Superduty. I 'm not going very far and will check in ocassionally to see how everyone is doing. ;tu

Wow, that does suck. All that cash into it. What did you get on the trade in?

Also, now that you have a f150, go to my other forum - www.fordfullsize.com :)

I got about 10K and they paid the shop bill. I probably could have gotten a little more on a private sell had the transmission been repaired but probably only a couple of thousand more at best. I think the deal worked out relaatively well considering the circumstances.

Your not the only one. We all know someone who has a New King Ranch 4 door with 3.73 rears 4WD Black over Gold with the Ecoboost.
He is a real old man and lives in Texas. LOL Anyone know who I am thinking of? I am sure he will be around soon.

Drove by the ole Superduty this morning as I left Asheville. The tranny shop had it up on the rack. They said the torq converter was ful of clutch debris damage was worse than first estimated. I hated to leave it there but had to move on. On a brighter note the new truck pulled the Harley home easily and we are all safe and sound. Boy, I liked that Superduty King Ranch.

HaHa Yep. Actually looked at a Toy but figured I needed a truck that had already grown up. Never considered the bowtie or goat

I still miss the diesel clacking but do enjoy the 19.4 MPG for the last 850 miles at 70 MPH. I wish they would come up with a diesel 1/2 ton with better mileage.
