If you forgot to plug it in and you got her started and she ran then you have no problem there. They do run very rough until they get warmed up especially if its cold outside and more so if you have some glowplugs bad.
I'm going to guess that your truck is a 96 model based on your user name. More than likely you've got some fried under valve cover harnesses, possibly valve cover gaskets & possibly the connectors going to them in addition to the bad glowpugs that were more than likely the source of the problem. oh and your GPR may be bad too.
Since the 96 programs cycle gp's only when needed which is minimal when you plug your truck in this morning you needed them and they heated up and with some bad they pull more power which results in heating of the wires and frequently burns the insulation off of the wires.
Easy check is to pull the oil cap off and sniff if you smell burnt electronics that's your problem unfortunately the other side isnt' as easy unelss you want to pull the CCV off and sniff there. No quick and easy fix other than a trip to the parts store.
if it's one group see if you can get the engine to start and then pull the vc harnesses one at a time. the computer will shut down the whole bank if it sees a problem but with one unplugged it'll start to fire the other 2 cylinders in that bank.
If you have access to a code scanner get them scanned first to see what CEL you threw.
