I have a 1999 with the stock rims and also have 35" tall tires about 12" wide and I rub my leaf springs every time I turn in or out of driveways and parking spots. If I bought new wheels I would find some that pushed the tires out an Inch or so.
Just my 2 cents...

99-04 you need a minium of 4.5 inches of backspacing. I'm running 16x10's with 12.5 wide tires and dont rub anything. But i also have just under 4 inches of backspacing.

I'm running 325/60R18(33X13.00) tires on 18X9.5 wheels...with the 2'' add-a-leaf in the front and since I pulled the inside of the fender well back a little...I turn with no rubbing at all...I believe my wheels have a 4.5'' backspacing
