My tranny is still in running order, at the moment, but I am positive that various parts will not last very long (ie tourqe converter). I don't have a large amount of money to be replacing the whole tranny but would like some options on some parts to beef it up that would have no problem handling the tourque.

Is everyone rich on here, have a large disposable income, and just buy the whole tranny. Someone has to have just replaced common parts in the tranny that fail.

When mine crapped out a few years back, I got a BTS tranny. He uses several upgraded pieces/components that he gets from a tightly guarded secret source.

when my TC pooped out i spent the big bucks on an ATS one, and it has more than paid itself off with the increase of fuel mileage (+2 city) as well as delivering much better towing performance. i also did the pump upgrade that was not expensive. spend the big bucks once and do it right the first time, rather than short change yourself just to end up doing it again later.

on the suncoast website they offer a heavy duty tranny rebuild kit for DIY and other kits for the 4r100

I'll check that out, anybody else got some suggestions? Even on torque converters cause I'm pretty sure that is my biggest problem right now......the converter slippin'.

If you put an expensive TC and just replace worn parts as opposed to wearable parts, you are asking for trouble. If that breaks, you are screwed since there is no way to clean a TC except to cut it open. Either I do the whole thing or I don't want to get into the trans.

But that is what I am looking for......to replace worn parts with heavy duty ones and other parts not worn that are prone to failure or explosion also.

If you do that, you are probably looking at rebuilding the trans.
