yea....i lose anywhere between 1-2 mpg in the winter....sucks a lot. I wonder if there are any additives you could put in to bring that BTU value back up? I already use the 2 stroke motor oil....maybe start using more than just that in the winter or more of a concentration of it?

Your thoughts?

Back to filter change periodicity (big word, same as: cycle/frequency;):D) ?

An observation ?

I changed fuel filters Saturday. Shut the valves on the Dahl, opened the drain. Let it drain into a clean, 1 gallon glass jug.. had some lunch'n took a Combat nap.

Woke up Battle Ready and finished the fuel filter/oil change-out stuff.

Today.. when I went to dump the glass jug into my oil re-cycle can thingy...

:eek: The Crap that had settled out of the dezel.. was amazing :eek:

Very fine scale, grit and mud... enough to almost cover the bottom ring of the jug. And that's not to mention what was proly still captured in the filter media..

I ran this set of filters a bit longer than usual but this kinda caught my attention as to the importance of changing the fuel filters IAW miles, and/or Time.

Thought I'd pass it on ?

Good observation report Joe! I think we tend to take for granted the importance of the filters. I know on the 6.0 the condition of the filters is paramount to injector performance and longevity. Suckers are expensive for the 6 as well, $60-$70 for a set of fuel filters.
