I believe the SCT doesnt leave any traces, however it will probably set a P0603 or P1000 code, that along with the other mods you show (35's and turbo back duals) will be a dead give away that you had something modded on the PCM as well.

  • Did something break on the truck that is going to require warranty work?
  • Was it added power that broke it?

if the tech is good he'll find the traces...if nothing else suspicion alone
is all they need to void your warranty.

there is a keep alive memory setting...tells how many times the truck
has been started, since the memory was last cleared...the maximum
number of starts is 200 or 250 that are retained...

if you bring your truck in and the "starts" is in the single digits your
suspect as having a tuner...sure you can say you removed the battery
cables to do some work or cleared the codes yourself...but if the dealer
wants to stick it to you....its his word against yours...and i bet my life
that FORD <corp> will back the dealer before they back any owner !

g'head...ask me how i know...

My "suspicion" is that a lawyer would relish the opportunity to hear the dealer explain to a judge how they justified their decision based on their "suspicions"! :smack

Besides, most dealers are ALSO interested in selling you another vehicle in the future. I have a tendancy to remind them that my purchasing future is hanging in the balance. A sales manager will get right in the face of a service manager over a stupid decision based on "suspicion"! :lmao

i agree...but in the mean time you're left w/ a broken truck
*AND* some lawyer bills...and no doubt FORD & THE DEALER
have more lawyers begging to test their skills <grinding you to
a slow crawl to the poor house>.

many dealers work on low margin...how many different dealers
did you visit or call trying to get a lower price before you finally
bought from the lowest priced dealer ??? no one gives a rats
arse about reputation or future sales...its all about the mighty
dollar !

the dealers w/ the reputation are few and far between...they just
cant compete against the low margin trash.

wave that M&M act in the dealers face all anyone wants...take it
to banks or sct etc...ask 'em for documented proof how many
owners theyve come to the aide of...

many <some here> have had their coverage revoked...its guilty
<at the dealer> before proven innocent !
