Has anyone put a remote starter on a powerstroke, or can it be done. I know it wont run the glow plugs before it started but theres got to be a way so it will. Use to have one on my camaro and used it all the time in the winter.

You can go by the alarm places, and find out which ones would work for you, THEN, if you are a DIYer then you can find one on Ebay or the internet stores for less and install it yourself;) ;)

I installed my own UltraStart remote start and it can be set to heat the glow plugs for a set amount of time or it can be set to start when the wait light goes out. I have mine set for twelve seconds as when I use it the temp is usually well below zero and I like the extra heat time. The systems are actually easy to install they just take some time if you want to do a real clean job. I think I spent around six or eight hours on mine but it looks like a factory installation.
