Hey,

So I often see now shopping for fuel that a few stations offer gold and regular diesel. Is there REALLY a difference other then price? I would guess not but any info would be appreciated.

Cheers

From what I have heard and talked to people, diesel is just diesel. From what I hear they don't add anything to diesel like they do with gas. I know up north they add anti-gelling but that is all that I know about.

i was told that sunoco gold diesel is the best we can get up here....the cetane rating is suppose to be where it should be.....just watch buying diesel at a off brand station, you never know what you might be getting....i have been running B5 and haven`t had any problems....i think if you buy diesel from esso or shell or sunoco you shouldn`t have any problems....hope this helps....

I did find big difference in power when using other brands then Shell, Exxon, BP, the off brands seam to be lower grades to me, this is mostly when I haul my 10,000 lbs trailer with my last truck
