yep you start dropping 1k on the tongue you need some sort of equalizers to make ride nice going down the road so the steer axle isnt to light

my 2k of hitch pin wt on the fiver squishes the rear some, but just barley touching the overloads, makes her ride so sweet

My 03 says 14000 and 1500 tongue (2"). I don't think a factory installed tow package / hitch would be any less than the towing capacity of the truck. Mine is on a sticker on the rear tube of the hitch frame.

I haven't cleaned off the sticker on my '02 factory hitch yet, but the 2" SurePull Class 5 on my F-250 is rated at 14000/1400 weight distributing; 12000/1200 without weight distribution. However, at those ratings a solid shank stinger is required.

The SurePull is identical to the Reese Titan except the latter is 2.5"

V-5 2006 hitch.... My hitch sticker says 6000/ 600lb tongue load without weight dist. and 12,500 / 12,500 with weight dist and is a 2" receiver, I'm not sure if this is a true class 5 hitch, Anyone know if reducer sleeve can be removed to use the reese titan 2.5" tow beast extension for towing a trailer with a slide in camper on the truck ? Camper dealer had never seen a ford V-5 hitch with 2" receiver, they recommend reese titan tow beast 2 1/2 " hitch with a 14,000lb rating.

Mine says "V-5 15000/1500 with weight dist & 6000/600 without". I have over 1000/7000 attached full time to mine. weight distribution never even crossed my mind, it seems to ride fine. I was guessing on my previous post since my truck was in the shop.

I was told that my 06 has the same hitch as the Reese Titan 2.5 in hitch. So with that said you don't need to take off your 15000K that came on your truck and replace it with a Reese Titan 2.5, you all ready have one. just not the same name.

Actually no it is not that same as the Titan Hitch. The Reese is 14,000 lb pull with 17,000 lb wieght distribution. Draw-tite offers a 2 in receiver for the superduty p/n 41931 that is 12,000 lb pull and 14,000 lb wd. Reese, Draw-tite, and Hidden hitch are all owned by Cequent towing. From my understanding the factory hitch is made by Valley.

Ok Heres a Q then, does anyone have an AirBag set up on there hitch for load dampening.. I took my truck the other day to get it inspected and for the size of the truck I had to take it to a heavy equipment place (Semis, RVs, City Vehicals and Diesel Trucks), anyways they started looking at my hitch and nobody there has ever seen my hitch anywere.. I mentioned that I cant even feel my trailer and there response was, "Ya we see why".. Id go andf take a pic but its rainign really bad out, so it will have to be after it stops.. Also the hitch is also tied into the leaf springs on the truck and has a built in extra load stablizer running crossways..
