Actually the oil goes to the HPOP to around 3000psi . (3100 the valve opens)
As the oil pressure pushes on the intensifier piston in the injector, the intensefier will start to open to allow fuel into the injector and the fuel pressured through the injector nozzle at 27000 psi, creating atomiziation of the fuel.
If anyone is worried about "lubricity", then 27000 psi should be enough of a light bulb. Buy an additive. What likes to operate at 27000psi with out signs of wear? Additives are cheap..
