turn the shaft 90* in your vise and flip the joint so you can fish the double yoke on

this is where having a friend help comes in handy..
you need to hold the yoke, the joint, and press and the impact and it's going to take all your hands

hold the yoke all the way to one side, so the stud of the joint pops through the opening for the cap.

start the cap and drive it on in

reverse & repeat the procedure for the other cap..

again, when you're done, make sure that both caps are below the ring groove and both seals are seated..

ok, now pack the socket part of the joint fulla' greeze..

and push it onto the stud until it's seated all the way..

you'll know you got enough grease in it if it spurts all over everything

hold the drive yoke over to one side, and install the cap on the stud, drive it on with your press.

on the other side, there was enough interference where I couldn't start the cap on the stud; I couldn't get it centered in the opening, nor could I get it far enough through the opening..

so I used a woodworker's clamp to hold it in alignment..

Use your press to center everything,
and install your retainer clips
don't be afraid to drive the clips in with a small punch if you have to..
and if you really can't get them to go, make sure you didn't drop a needle bearing in the a cap or smush a groove closed with the press..

better to find it now and down the truck for a day or two waiting for parts, than scab it on and have it blow apart on the road, leaving you waiting for AAA and down two days waiting for parts..
