I installed the rear disc brake conversion from blackbird's yesterday. the install went smoothly except fot the brake lines (fittings were a little different) and i haven't gotten around to hooking up the e-brake cables yet. my truck stops a whole lit better now. it is definately worth it to get rid of the drums. so much easier to change pads than drum shoes.

i also installed the aluminum diff cover from the '08 superduties. got it from powerstrokeshop.com it's a direct bolt on but needs sone longer bolts due to the thickness of the flange. pics are below, enjoy...

hey bush, our trucks are both F350 SRW's, so which diff. cover did you get?

the 10.25 or 10.50? thanks. it looks like a cheaper alt. than the mag hytech diff cover.

the cover can be obtain for as CHEAP as 34 bucks on the web...but
then as Matt pointed out youll have to go find 12 (longer) bolts and washers.

I ordered the one from diesel manor (link above) theres only ONE and it
fits BOTH the 10.25" & 10.5" rear end SRW (only) trucks.

the size "describes" the RING gear size...and as i understand it
both the 10.25 & 10.5 fit in the same housing

Cool idea, I never thought about changing the brakes out. How hard was it? And how much did it cost?
