Rear Axle Ratio

I want to know what the rear ratio on my 01' F-250 PS is. It is 2WD and auto trans. I crawled under it and there were 2 tags on the coverplate. One says to use only Synthetic oil and the other says"S 409 H L73 10 5 1A12".
Anyone decipher this for me?

If I remember correctly, it means you have a limit slip 3.73 rear.

Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

All SRW are 3.73 and you can see that code in the tag (L73) 10.5 Sterling rear.

DRW are 4.10 I believe

Your axle code is on the driver's side door sticker.

Code C1 on the door. Ya'll are correct. 3.73 Limited Slip.
I wanted to know because I am checking into a O/U drive and wonderin how much it will help. Thanks for the welcome. This is a great site for our trucks info.

All SRW are 3.73

While I don't think this is entirely correct, the majority are. My friend's 2000 F350 SRW CC LWB has the 4.10's I think, if not I'm wrong but the only sure way to know is to check the door #'s! Unless of course you are not the only owner this truck has had, then it's a toss-up!

All the SRW come with 3.73 unless someome changes it like I did. The dually is usually a 4.10.

3.73 is standard but 4.10 is an option .mine was ordered 4.10. only way to know is by reading axle code or doing the math.

4.10 was not an option on a Diesel up to 2002. Only in the 5.4 and 6.8 V10. Unless your diesel was a dually. I still have the original books from ordering mine.
